This Longwood Gardens selection of Indian grass is renowned for its lovely powder blue foliage. This selection of the native clump forming prairie grass makes a 3' tall x 3' wide mound...perfect in the informal part of the garden. Sorghastrum 'Sioux Blue' is prized both for the 0.5" wide blue grey foliage and later in summer for the cinnamon colored plumes atop powder blue stems to +6'...spectacular! Sorghastrum nutans prefers a sunny, hot, and dry location. If you're in the habit of naming your plants, please call yours Bill or George...anything but Sioux!
