Sempervivum 'El Toro' is one of the best hens and chickens for hot, humid climates. This 1974 hybrid from the late UK sempervivum hybridizer David Ford, forms large 7" wide rosettes, whose new growth emerges green before aging to a lovely burgundy red. Sempervivum 'El Toro' offsets nicely, forming an 18" wide patch when happy in a sunny, well-drained site.
