(aka: A6SC-039 Bryodesma tortipilum) Selaginella tortipila 'Southern Twist' is our 2026 Plant Delights/JLBG introduction of the very rare (G3 ranked) kinky-hair spikemoss. Native only to a small region at the convergence of NC, Tennessee, South Carolina, and Georgia, it is found on high elevation, seasonally moist, granite and sandstone rock outcrops as an epilithic lithophyte. For us, it has thrived in our gravelly, full sun rock garden where it makes a fuzzy evergreen carpet to 2' wide in three years.
