(aka: Selaginella OJ Gold) We are thrilled to offer a second Japanese selection of the insanely dwarf, Selaginella tamariscina. Selaginella 'Golden Sprite' no doubt has a Japanese name but we have not yet been able to determine what that might be, so we've temporarily given it a new name. Selaginella tamariscina is highly prized for container culture in Japan and we have found it also to be fine in a special spot in the woodland garden. Selaginella 'Golden Sprite' makes a small, and insanely slow-growing, 2" tall x 3" wide dwarf clump in 2 years...perfect for fairy gardens The foliage color is brightest after the new growth emerges in spring, and takes on a lovely rusty-orange hue during the winter months.
