Sarracenia x leucopurea is a Plant Delights seed strain developed here from a cross of Sarracenia leucophylla 'Hurricane Creek White' x Sarracenia purpurea. This cross was formerly considered the same as Sarracenia x mitchelliana until Sarracenia purpurea and Sarracenia rosea were recognized as distinct species. When mature, these dramatic plants produce large, 1' long, dark red pitchers with white netting toward the top and around the large upright hood. Sarracenia x leucopurea is very showy and quite vigorous.
