Salvia regla 'Huntington Gardens' is a stunning selection of the North American native orange mountain sage. Salvia regla 'Huntington Gardens' forms a very upright clump to 5' tall x 4' wide, topped, starting for us in September (NC) with terminal spikes of brilliant scarlet red flowers...and a flock of hummingbirds. This is the most floriferous of the Salvia regla cultivars we've trialed. The unique black stems also provide a wonderful effect in the garden. Sadly, we haven't found Salvia regla 'Huntington Gardens' quite as winter hardy as Salvia 'Jame'...we'd rate it a Zone 8 plant, so plant it accordingly. Please remember that hummingbirds are not included.
