We obtained this fabulous rohdea from California, where it was grown in a private Japanese garden for many years. The 8" tall x 15" wide evergreen rosettes are composed of dark green outward stretching leaves, each edged with a narrow white band from the leaf tip to the base. Rohdea japonica 'Herbie' is also one of the fastest-multiplying rohdeas that we have grown. Just like other rohdea, the clumps are adorned with short stalks of bright red berries in the winter.
