    (syn: P. 'Andenken an Friedrich Hahn') This old Dutch Penstemon hybrid, past winner of the RHS Award of Garden Merit, is one of the best penstemons we grow. The freely basal branching, slender, upright stems of Penstemon 'Garnet' are clothed with narrow green leaves, making a medium sized clump. The scrumptious garnet bells smother the stalks in spring and continue sporadically through the rest of the summer. Penstemon 'Garnet' is a socialite that mingles well with other plants in the border.
