Way back in 2001, plantsman Darrell Probst shared this tiny variegated mondo grass that he picked up in Japan as "variegated mini". We've wanted to share for a long time, but this is one slow, non-economical plant. Finally, 16 years later, we have enough to offer. Ophiopogon 'Snow Globe', as we've christened it, forms tiny 2" tall x 2" wide rosettes of longitudinally green and white striped leaves. Our 16 year old clump is...or, was, before dividing it, 2' wide, knitting together to form a dense, ground-covering carpet. Ophiopogon 'Snow Globe' would be equally at home in a Japanese style shade garden or a bonsai container. If this is the kind of plant you like, don't hesitate or they'll be gone much faster than they grow.
