We first spotted this cutie at the late Harlan Hamernik's Bluebird Nursery and realized it was quite different from the other super-dwarf mondo grasses that we were already growing. Harlan obtained the plant in the late '70s, long before dwarf mondos were widely grown. These clumps are so tight and dwarf that they perfectly resemble golf balls that have rolled through too much wet grass. I'm not really sure how to use these in the landscape, but they are cute as can be...beats the hell out of pet rocks!
