We have been amazed by the performance of this European alpine native (Spain to Austria) in our hot, humid, rainy summer climate. The 6" tall x 2' wide thread-leaf glaucous evergreen mounds of Minuartia laricifolia are smothered, starting for us in mid-May with masses of small white flowers...an absolutely well-behaved stunner. Foliar growth stops during the hot summer months. Our plants have thrived in our crevice garden, where they grow superbly in full sun in a gravelly soil mix.
