Mangave 'American Masterpiece' is a new Hans Hansen/Walters Gardens creation, derived from a cross involving Agave x protamericana and Mangave 'Jaguar'. This stunning specimen forms a fast-growing 18" tall x 3' wide clump of long leaves with a wide olive green, purple-spotted band down the center, surrounded by a wide gold margin. In sun, a red blush covers all but the outermost yellow band. Although it's best kept above freezing, our garden plant returned after 14 degrees F.
