(aka: Mahonia sheridaniana) Mahonia fargesii is a little-known Chinese mahonia that's made a splendid specimen for us since 2002. Mahonia fargesii eventually reaches 3.5' tall with typical spiny green mahonia foliage...sort of like a dwarf Mahonia bealei. The plants are topped from mid-October through mid-November with lovely bright yellow tassels. The flowers are subsequently replaced with bright blue fruit in February/March.
