This Korean counterpart to our native Jeffersonia diphylla starts its life in early spring when it produces numerous stalks of upfacing blue-lavender cupped flowers. Just as the flowering ceases, the foliage emerges from a tight clump, resembling a nicely lobed Sanguinaria canadensis (bloodroot). Jeffersonia dubia prefers well-drained but slightly moist soils and a near neutral pH.
