Iris koreana is the Korean counterpart to our American native Iris cristata. Iris koreana forms a delightful, tiny, 1' tall clump of narrow green foliage to 15" long. Iris koreana is adorned, starting in mid-April (NC), with small yellow flowers, each with a contrasting brown halo eye-zone. We have found Iris koreana very easy to grow in typical to dry woodland garden conditions. Our offering is from a Darrell Probst collection near Pyonsan-Bando (southwest coastal Korea) on our 1997 expedition.
