This new Dan Hinkley discovery (collection # DJH270) of H. yingeri is from the Korean island of Taehuksan, west of southern South Korea in the Yellow Sea. The original collection from Sohuksan Island, where the plant was first discovered, is several hours to the south. The Taehuksan Form seems a bit smaller, with the same glossy foliage and stunning, star-shaped purple flowers that cluster around the stem in late July and August.
