This new introduction from Japan appears to be a dwarf selection of the ever-popular H. venusta. The tiny green leaves make a tight clump to only 3" in width. In late summer, the clumps are topped with 1-2" tall flower scapes holding only a couple of tiny purple flowers. This is a real cutie for the rock garden or troughs, so that it won't get lost.
