Origin: Hybrid
This distinctive H. ventricosa selection from Mary Chastain is known for its intense black-green leaf coloration and heavily rippled leaf margins that are a dramatic improvement over the typical species. The 2' wide clump is slightly smaller than typical H. ventricosa, although it is still topped with standard 26" tall scapes of large purple-and-white striped bell-like flowers in early summer. Once you see this plant, there's no turning back!
