Hosta 'Unruly Child' is a 2015 Plant Delights Nursery introduction, derived from a complex series of crosses involving Hosta yingeri, Hosta hypoleuca, Hosta kikutii, Hosta longipes, Hosta sieboldiana, Hosta plantaginea, and Hosta sieboldii, finally culminating in 2005 with this hybrid. The result is a truly crazy hosta with more wiggles, undulations, and crests than we've ever seen in a hosta. If you like this kind of thing, this is exactly the kind of thing you'll like. The 1' tall x 26" wide clump of glossy green leaves are incredibly wavy, ruffled, and twisted. Hosta 'Unruly Child' is topped with 28" tall spikes of rather attractive lavender flowers in mid-August.
