This late flowering, miniature hosta has shiny, deep green, glossy, lance shaped leaves, a nice tight clump, red petioles, and medium lavender flowers in very late summer. The debate rages as to its species status... possibly a subspecies of H. longipes... still considered one of the finest, both for garden use and in hybridizing.
