This cute little hosta is from the Hosta ventricosa breeding program of Dr. Herb Benedict. Hosta 'Stirfry' is the result of Hosta 'Holly's Honey' having sex with itself...a practice that was strongly promoted by a former surgeon general! The dark green leaves have a unique twist at the tip (possibly due to above mentioned activity). In late summer, the 3' wide clumps are topped with near-black lavender bells on 3' scapes...a hummingbird favorite.
