Hosta 'Scentuous' is a 2020 Plant Delights/JLBG introduction of a cross we made back in 1995 between Hosta 'Hirao Elite' and the fragrant Hosta plantaginea. The result is an amazingly vigorous hosta that forms an 18" tall x 4' wide clump of glossy green leaves. Starting for us in early August (NC), the clumps are topped with a large number of 2' tall stalks, each topped with wide open, strongly fragrant flowers that are heavily streaked with dark purple, similar to Hosta ventricosa. You won't confuse Hosta 'Scentuous' with any other hostas in your garden.
