(syn: Hosta fluctuans 'Variegated') Hosta 'Sagae' has long been recognized as one of the greatest hostas ever introduced. The upright, vase-shaped, large hosta has a satiny blue-grey leaf surrounded by a wide border, that emerges gold then ages to cream. Hosta 'Sagae' takes 2-3 years to mature, but when grown well, it makes one of the most dramatic specimens in the woodland garden. The pale lavender flowers top the 6' wide clump on 54" scapes in summer.
