This H. nigrescens hybrid from Iron Gate Gardens was one of the first and still one of the best red-petioled hostas. Essentially this is a green version of H. 'Krossa Regal' with dark purple at the base of each leaf petiole. In early summer, the 4' wide clumps are topped with 5' scapes of light lavender flowers.
