This is one of the most highly sought-after hosta species, both as a garden specimen and for hosta hybridizing. The 20" wide clumps feature densely arranged thick green leaves with a glaucous coating. The most impressive feature is the powdery white back to the leaves...truly stunning! The leaf petioles and the flower stalks are both heavily speckled with reddish purple...a trait that breeders are using to hybridize for red foliage. In midsummer, the clumps are topped with 18" scapes of purple.
