Hosta 'Prairie's Edge' is a 2015 Walters Gardens introduction that arose as a sport of the all-gold Hosta 'Prairie Fire' (Hosta 'Gold Regal' x Hosta 'Tokudama'), plus the addition of a 1.5" wide dark green border. The resulting 18" tall x 40" wide, upright, fountain-like clump of corrugated foliage emerges chartreuse-gold with a dark green border. The central gold pattern is lutescent, and brightens first to pure gold, then to parchment white-gold as the season progresses. The 28" stalks of nearly white flowers top the stunning clump in midsummer.
