This unique hosta was collected on our 1997 Korean expedition on the south side of Wolchusan Mountain at 1000' elevation. These 15" wide clumps were scattered around the very dry, rocky hillside in deep shade. Upon growing out the seedlings, we find that this hosta does not look like any of the known species from Korea. The pointed, long green leaves are topped in early June with 30" tall scapes of dark lavender flowers. We have seen a fair number of branched flower scapes with these seedlings. So far, this remains an unidentified new species.
