I'll bet you never thought about having an 'Illicit Affair' in your home garden, but now you can. This delightful new sport of popular H. 'Cheatin Heart' is truly a fascinating plant. The small 18" wide clump is identical to the parent in every way except for leaf color. The leaves emerge chartreuse-green in early spring and then develop a nice creamy border. The older foliage then changes to solid gold, with the edging showing up only on the new foliage. The clumps are topped with 18" tall scapes of lavender flowers in early summer. Secretly, we think you will enjoy this one!
