Hosta 'Essence of Summer' is a tetraploid version of Hosta 'Warwick Essence', which is a hybrid of Hosta sieboldiana 'Northern Halo' and Hosta plantaginea. The 20" tall x 3.5' wide clump is composed of rounded blue green, slightly corrugated foliage. By the time the stalks of fragrant white flowers emerge in mid-summer, the foliage wax has melted, and the foliage turned green.
