Hosta 'Designer Genes' has been a real attention-getting hosta in our display garden, so we decided it's time to share. Hosta 'Designer Genes' is an Arthur Wrede hybrid that forms a 1' tall x 28" wide clump of yellow leaves that emerge brilliant gold in spring, contrasting nicely with the bright rhubarb-red petioles. In the heat of summer, the leaves will eventually turn green, although morning sun maintains the color a bit longer. We have been really pleased with the vigor and performance of Hosta 'Designer Genes' and hope you enjoy it in your garden as much as we have.
