This is a Darrell Probst collection from Pyonsan-Bando, at 2300' elevation on the west coast of South Korea, collected during our fall 1997 expedition. This particular collection was found growing in very dry shade. The typical green rosettes reach 2' in width. In late summer, the clumps are topped with 18" tall scapes with all of the lavender flowers in a sphere at the top of the scape.
