This 1994 Plant Delights/JLBG introduction was derived as a seedling from H. 'Sum and Substance'. Hosta 'Bubba' is sure to stand out in any garden with its slick, very shiny, thick green leaves...as if coated with Slick 50 engine treatment. Each 3' wide clump of Hosta 'Bubba' is topped by light lavender flowers in late summer. Bubba is, of course, short, fat, and has a little red neck (at the base of each petiole)...everybody needs a Bubba in their garden!
