We've spent several decades trying to breed a large blue corrugated-leaf hosta that thrives in the heat and humidity of the Southeast US. Our 2022 Plant Delights/JLBG introduction fits that bill. Hosta 'Blue Pillow' forms a dense 18" tall x 4' wide clump of thick, heavily-corrugated blue leaves. The clumps are topped with an attractive floral show of 30" rigidly upright stalks of white flowers, starting for us in late July. The multi-generational breeding included Hosta 'Mardi Gras', 'Blue Hawaii', 'Tutu' and species hostas, Hosta rupifraga and plantaginea. We hope you enjoy Hosta 'Blue Pillow' as much as we do.
