This new hybrid from Michigan breeder Ed Elslager is a sister seedling to H. 'A Many Splendored Thing'. The cross of H. 'Dorothy Benedict' x H. hypoleuca has produced a smaller version of the above that reaches only 2' wide with very round corrugated black-green leaves, each surrounded by a wide creamy gold border. In late spring, the upright vase-shaped clumps are topped with pure white flowers.
