Hosta 'Azure Gem', a 2020 Plant Delights/JLBG introduction is the result of our breeding work to develop small, fast-multiplying blue hostas with miniature Hosta sieboldiana-like foliage that love the heat and humidity of the Southeastern US. The dusty blue heart-shaped foliage of Hosta 'Azure Gem' is nicely corrugated with prominent veins and topped, starting in June (NC), with 15" scapes of lilac flowers. Hosta 'Azure Gem' forms a very small 7" tall x 18" wide clump at maturity. Hosta 'Silver Bay' and Hosta venusta are two of the parents. We hope you like this as much as we do.
