This amazing sport of Hosta 'Edge of Night' is a clump I couldn't take my eyes off of in the former Minnesota garden of hosta guru, Hans Hansen. The heavily-cupped and corrugated dark green leaves with a wide creamy-white border are turned upwards instead of lying horizontally, forming a 28" tall x 55" wide clump that resembles hands clapping; hence, the name. A mature clump of Hosta 'Applause' ranks right up with Hosta 'Praying Hands' in the unusual category.
