When we acquired this wild collected daylily from China as Hemerocallis multiflora, we didn't know what to expect, but were rewarded with an amazing daylily. In midsummer, this daylily produces 5' tall flower spikes that are well-branched toward the tip and topped with large, golden-yellow, sweetly-fragrant flowers that open in the afternoon to attract hummingbirds. The long bloom time, sturdy stems and great branching make this a superb garden specimen, which turned out to be a superb giant form of the edible Hemerocallis citrina, hence the name commemorating another well-branched giant from China.
