Helleborus niger 'Tabby' is a 2016 Plant Delights introduction. We developed this seed strain from an original plant of the heat and humidity tolerant Helleborus niger ssp. macranthus. This amazing seed strain produces pewter-leaf plants with light grey veining. The 1' tall x 2' wide evergreen clumps are also adorned, starting in late January (NC), with 6" stalks of pure white flowers, but we'd grow this for the foliage alone. Being seedlings, each plant of Helleborus niger 'Tabby' is slightly different, but subsequent seedlings carry the pewter-leaf trait.
