Helleborus x iburgensis 'Cheryl's Shine' is another of the great sterile hybrids between the Helleborus x ballardiae (niger x lividus) and the lenten rose, Helleborus x hybridus. The lovely green and silver-veined, evergreen, deer-resistant foliage is topped, starting for us in mid-February, with 15" tall stalks of out-facing pink flowers, lighter toward the center and each beautifully accented by a large central cluster of yellow stamens.
