We have grown this amazing, but little-known ginger for several years under the misspelled name 'Kanogie'. Hedychium 'Kin Ôgi' is one of our favorite ginger lilies with strong 6' tall stalks, topped in late summer with stunning 1' tall flower heads of large, butterscotch-orange, fragrant flowers. The flower color is quite unique among the gingers we grow, and a plant in full flower is a crowd stopper. You are probably wondering what a Kin Ôgi is, and, no, he wasn't the old dude from Star Wars. "Kin" means gold and "Ôgi" means plant.
