Gladiolus 'Mexicana' is a 1967 hybrid from legendary plant breeder Dr. Robert Griesbach that produces compact and sturdy 3' tall spikes in mid-June with highly ruffled butterscotch-yellow flowers, each highlighted with large red patterns. As the flowers mature, the two upper petals transform to a salmony peach... simply amazing and reliably winter hardy in our trials. We don't know if these will survive north of Zone 7, but let us know if you give them a try... otherwise enjoy them as tender perennials to be dug in fall.
