Named in 1997, the rare evergreen Epimedium chlorandrum from Sichuan, China forms a glossy-foliaged 2' tall clump. Epimedium chlorandrum is topped in early spring with long arching flower spikes, each bearing 30-60 flowers and backed by two three-leaflet leaves (often red mottled). The stalks hold large 1.5" flowers that dangle like large yellow spiders, each with a white back, touched off by a blush of purple on the back. Our offering is Dan Hinkley's collection, DJHC 705. Epimedium chlorandrum is a vigorous grower that's been an amazing performer for us; we think you will enjoy it as well.
