Disporopsis pernyi 'Xiao Chengdu' is a clone of evergreen Solomon's seal that plantsman Jim Waddick picked up at a Chengdu food and flower market in 1989. Disporopsis 'Xiao Chengdu' (which means little Chengdu) was named by Jim Waddick in 2013 and we are pleased to present it to a wider audience. For us, Disporopsis 'Xiao Chengdu' stays about 1/3 shorter than typical Disporopsis pernyi, which is 10" tall when growing in part sun. If you grow it in deep shade it will stretch to almost 18" tall. The stalks are adorned with attractive, small, dangling, white, bell-shaped flowers in mid-spring.
