Disporopsis arisanensis BSWJ1864 is a 1993 Crug Farm collection of the evergreen Solomon's Seal from 5,100' elevation near Taipingshan, Taiwan. Disporopsis are rather confused taxonomically, but having a plant propagated from an original wild collection makes sure you have the correct item. Our 8-year old clump has produced a solid 4' wide patch of 1' tall stalks, each adorned by four thick, round evergreen leaves (2.25" wide x 3.25" long), alternately-arranged at the upper reaches of the stem. The axillary small fragrant white flowers in mid-spring are heavily flecked brown. These are followed by fleshy dark purple fruit that persists until spring. Disporopsis arisanensis performs great in average woodland conditions.
