We have been amazed at how easy many of the alpine daphnes are in our sunny rock garden, and are so excited, we decided to share. Daphne 'Bramdean' is a 1988 cross of Daphne sericea 'Collina' and Daphne cneorum var. pygmaeum, a hybrid group, found naturally in Southern Italy. This amazing evergreen shrub forms a compact mound to 15" tall x 3' wide. The plants are topped first in late winter, then regularly through the summer and fall with dense clusters of fragrant, rich pink flowers. Good drainage, and baking sun are the keys to success.
