Cypripedium 'Sabine' is a 2002 ladyslipper orchid hybrid from Germany's Werner Frosch that combines the Chinese native Cypripedium fasciolatum with the Chinese Cypripedium macranthos. Atop the 18" stalk sits an obscenely large, Grade A egg-sized flower, composed of a light pink pouch backed with purple and white striped sepals...simply stunning! We have now grown Cypripedium 'Sabine' in our garden since 2006, where it has prospered. Our nursery seed-grown plants are all flowering size.
