This 1996 Werner Frosch introduction is a hybrid of the Chinese native orchid, Cypripedium macranthos and the large-growing North American native, Cypripedium kentuckiense. Cypripedium 'Philipp' has been an excellent performer in our heat and humidity, forming a robust clump to nearly 2' tall, topped in late spring with large slippers of white to rosy pink and backed by stunning, large, deep purple sepals often streaked white...a truly amazing plant! Our hardy ladyslipper orchids are all flowering-sized plants.
