Cypripedium macranthos is a widespread but highly variable Asian species whose native range includes China, Russia, Japan, Korea, and Taiwan, where it can be found growing in well-drained soils at between 2,000' and 8,000' elevation. In the wild, Cypripedium macranthos grows on woodland edges and grassy slopes in rich organic soils at a near neutral pH. The pouch and sepal color is usually a shade of violet pink. In the wild, Cypripedium flowers in June/July. Our offerings are seed grown, nursery propagated plants that are all flowering size.
