Chasmatophyllum musculinum is one of several South African succulents from the Karoo and surrounding areas, that make great rock garden specimens. Tiger jaws forms a compact mat of small, fleshy, green leaves, covered for months in both spring and fall with bright yellow daisies with orange tips on the back the back of the petals. Although Chasmatophyllum musculinum is quite drought tolerant, we recommend occasional watering in dry summer climates, but keep soils very dry during the winter. The genus name, Chasmatophyllum translates to "crevice leaf".
