Ceratostigma plumbaginoides is an amazing, vigorous groundcover which thrives in both full sun and partial shade. The fingernail-sized, small green leaves clothe the slowly-spreading, wiry-stemmed, deer-resistant groundcover (3' wide in 5 years). From July through September, blue plumbago patches are adorned with small, cobalt blue flowers. With the arrival of cool fall weather, ceratostigma foliage takes on a lovely reddish cast. Unlike its larger cousin, Winnie, blue plumbago may be very late to emerge in spring...so be patient.
